Why ExpressTech

Independent by Choice.

Not tied to a manufacturer service queue — which is why we identify your device properly before we order, and agree the price before we start.

Irish-owned since 2007 · 1,000+ Google reviews at 4.5 stars.

The price is agreed first

You get the price before any work begins. If we find something else, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill.

What it costs to find out

The exact price is confirmed before any work begins. Complex faults, including liquid damage, no-power, intermittent faults and logic board issues, carry a €30 diagnostic fee. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

The iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are all repaired at the ExpressTech workshop in Dublin 2, or by nationwide Collection & Return without leaving home. All seven repairs are available across the range: screens, batteries, charging ports, back glass, rear cameras, camera lenses and liquid damage diagnostics.

The iPhone 15 generation is the one that moved to USB-C, which is the change owners notice most and the one that quietly reshaped charging port repairs. The exact price is confirmed up front where the fault is clear, and walk-in screen and battery replacements are usually completed in about 60 minutes.

You can walk in Monday to Saturday at Dublin 2 without an appointment. If you are outside Dublin, Collection & Return runs Monday to Friday for €30 flat per shipment, round trip, tracked and insured, door to door. Both routes are the same repair, by the same technicians, at the same price.

ExpressTech has been trusted across Ireland since 2007 and holds 1,000+ Google reviews at 4.5 stars. Every repair is priced and confirmed with you before any work begins.

Which iPhone 15 do you have, and what it means for the repair

Telling the four models apart

Every model in this generation has the Dynamic Island, so the cutout no longer separates standard from Pro the way it did on the iPhone 14. Two other checks do.

Count the rear cameras. Two lenses is an iPhone 15 or 15 Plus. Three is a 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max.

Look at the switch above the volume buttons. A physical sliding mute switch means a standard 15 or 15 Plus. A flush button that you press, the Action button, means a Pro.

Then size: 6.1 inches for the 15 and 15 Pro, 6.7 for the 15 Plus and 15 Pro Max. To confirm exactly, open Settings, then General, then About, and read Model Name. ExpressTech identifies the model on arrival at no cost.

USB-C, and what it changed about charging repairs

This generation replaced Lightning with USB-C across all four models, and it is worth understanding what that means when charging goes wrong.

USB-C is a more capable connector with more contacts inside it, which brings one practical consequence: a port can fail partially. An iPhone 15 that charges but will not transfer data to a computer, or one that charges slowly and refuses to fast charge, is usually showing damage to some contacts and not others. On Lightning that pattern was rarer and more often meant the whole port had gone.

The diagnosis advice has not changed. Before booking anything, power the phone off and look into the port with a torch. Compacted pocket lint is still the most common cause of an iPhone that will not charge, and a wooden toothpick clears it. Never use anything metal, because the contacts inside a USB-C port are finer than Lightning's and bend more easily.

One more thing owners ask about: charging your iPhone 15 with a third-party USB-C cable is fine. It does not damage the port and it does not affect any repair.

Back glass on this generation

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus carry forward the rear-opening construction introduced with the iPhone 14, so back glass replacement on those two models is far less expensive than it was on phones from a few years earlier. If you have a cracked back and have been assuming it is not worth fixing, it is worth a quote.

Construction differs across the generation, so ExpressTech confirms the back glass price for your exact model rather than quoting a generation-wide figure. Ask, and you will be given the number for the phone in your hand.

What this generation is coming in for now

Screens lead by a wide margin, and it is accident damage. These are still recent phones, so genuine component failure is uncommon.

Charging ports are second and unusually high for a generation this young, which is the USB-C effect described above showing up in practice rather than a reliability problem.

Batteries are third and beginning to appear. An iPhone 15 is now at the age where heavy users start noticing the afternoon slump. Check Settings, Battery, Battery Health & Charging, but judge it on how the phone behaves rather than on the percentage alone.

Titanium, and what it means when a Pro is dropped

The 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max use a titanium frame. It is lighter than the stainless steel it replaced and it holds up well, but it does not make the phone unbreakable and it does nothing for the glass on either face.

What it does change is how impact damage presents. A titanium-framed phone can take a hard corner drop and show only a small mark on the rail while the display underneath has failed. If your Pro looks nearly undamaged but the screen is misbehaving, that is consistent rather than strange, and it is worth having looked at properly.

Is an iPhone 15 worth repairing?

Yes, clearly. This generation has a long software life ahead of it and holds strong resale value, so a screen or battery repair is straightforwardly the better spend against replacing the handset.

The one place ExpressTech would slow you down is liquid damage, and that is true of any phone regardless of age. No outcome can be guaranteed on a wet phone, and the diagnostic exists to tell you where you actually stand before you commit to anything.

Parts and quality

ExpressTech uses the right quality part for the device and repair: Soft OLED screens — the iPhone screen standard — with one clear price per model, and a choice of two battery qualities with Genuine Apple available where supply allows. What applies to your model is explained before any work begins.

Fitting a non-Genuine battery removes the Battery Health percentage from Settings, and iOS may show a parts notice after a non-Genuine replacement. Neither affects how the repair performs. ExpressTech is an independent repair specialist by choice and does not claim any manufacturer authorisation.

Warranty

Every completed repair at ExpressTech is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair.

Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid damage work is approved.

Common questions about iPhone 15 repairs

My iPhone 15 charges but my computer no longer recognises it. Is that the port? Usually yes. Power and data run through different contacts in a USB-C port, so one can fail while the other keeps working. Try a known-good cable first, then have the port looked at.

Does using a non-Apple USB-C cable damage the port? No. Use whatever cable you like.

Will the Action button still work after a repair? Yes. It is unaffected by screen, battery, back glass and charging port work, and it is tested before the phone is returned.

Will my iPhone 15 still be water resistant afterwards? No. Even a charging port repair means opening the phone, and the factory seal does not go back. ExpressTech reseals, which returns splash resistance. The iPhone repair page has the detail.

Will I lose my data? No. The phone is not wiped in order to repair it, and a passcode is not required for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution.

The questions people actually ask.

How long does an iPhone 15 repair take?

Most iPhone 15 screen and battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes. We'll always confirm the expected turnaround before any work begins. Visit our store any time during opening hours, no appointment needed. For Local Collection & Return customers, allow 3 to 4 working days.

Is my data safe during the repair?

Yes. We do not access your data during standard hardware repairs, and it is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution.

What warranty do you provide on iPhone 15 repairs?

Every iPhone 15 repair comes with a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. If a fault related to the repair appears within that period, we fix it at no charge.

Do you offer iPhone 15 repairs nationwide?

Yes. Walk in to our Dublin 2 workshop, post your device to us from anywhere in Ireland, or book Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas (€30 flat per shipment, round trip). Every repair is done at our Dublin 2 workshop. VAT invoices available for all business and school repairs. Trusted since 2007 with over 1,000 Google reviews.
