How school repairs work

A clear repair workflow for school devices.

Whether it is one staff device or a larger batch of iPads, we keep the repair route clear from first contact to return.

  1. Tell us what needs repairing

Send us the device type, issue and quantity. We can help confirm whether walk-in, courier or batch collection is the right route.

  2. We log the device and confirm approval

Devices are logged clearly, and any extra work is confirmed before repair begins.

  3. We repair, test and update you

Our technicians repair the device, test the key functions and keep the school updated if anything changes.

  4. Collect, return or send approved staff

Devices can be collected from our Dublin 2 repair centre, returned by courier or handled through an approved staff walk-in route.

Why independent fleet support

ExpressTech compared to the manufacturer channel

How managed repair for school device fleets compares with the typical manufacturer or authorised-channel route.

ExpressTech
Manufacturer channel
Turnaround
Turnaround agreed per account. Most repairs are completed on the bench at our Dublin workshop.
Often sent away, with turnaround measured in days to weeks.
Repair depth
Component-level repair where it is the right outcome, so the device you already own is kept in service.
Commonly resolved by a device swap or full unit replacement.
Data handling
We do not access, transfer or erase customer data without explicit instruction. NDAs and data-handling agreements are available on request.
Replacement or factory reset is a common part of the process, so data retention is not guaranteed.
Account contact
A named account contact for your organisation.
General consumer support queue.
Procurement
VAT invoices, purchase-order acceptance, asset-tag tracking and per-device repair reports as standard.
Consumer-oriented, with limited procurement support.

No minimum device count. There is no repair charge if a device cannot be fixed, aside from any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee for complex faults. Every repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship.

Circular by default

Repair that supports your ESG goals

For procurement teams working to ESG and sustainability mandates, repair is the lower-impact path. Keeping working hardware in service is a practical way to act on those commitments.

Extend device life

Repair keeps devices you already own working for longer, so they are replaced when they genuinely need to be, not by default.

Reduce e-waste

Repairing and reusing hardware diverts devices from the waste stream and reduces demand for new units.

A documented choice

Per-device repair reports give your team a clear record of repair-over-replace decisions for internal and ESG reporting.

Common questions from schools

  • Do you provide VAT invoices for school repairs?

Yes. VAT invoices are issued automatically for every school and college repair. We also accept purchase orders from all educational institutions.

  • Do you offer bulk pricing for schools?

Yes. Schools and colleges repairing multiple devices receive bulk pricing. Contact us to set up a school account and we will provide a quote based on your fleet size.

  • Can you collect devices from our school?

Yes. We offer a nationwide courier service across Ireland. We collect your devices, repair them at our Dublin workshop, and return them to your school. Collection and return is €30 flat per shipment, round trip — the same nationwide rate for every customer, regardless of how many devices are in the collection.

  • How long do school repairs take?

Repair time depends on the device, fault and parts availability. Many common repairs can be completed quickly at our Dublin 2 repair centre, while courier repairs and larger school batches may take longer. We confirm the expected timing before work begins.
