Which iPhone 16 is it?
Pick your exact model and you’ll see its repairs — with the exact price before anything begins.
The 2024 generation, joined by the 16e in early 2025. On the back, the 16 and 16 Plus stack their two cameras vertically; the Pros keep the triple array. The Camera Control key on the right edge marks out every model except the 16e — the one with a single rear camera.

You get the price before any work begins. If we find something else, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill.
The exact price is confirmed before any work begins. Complex faults, including liquid damage, no-power, intermittent faults and logic board issues, carry a €30 diagnostic fee. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

ExpressTech repairs the iPhone 16 line at its Dublin 2 workshop and by nationwide Collection & Return across Ireland: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16e. Screen replacement is available for every model in this generation. Battery replacement, charging port repair, back glass replacement, camera repair and liquid damage diagnostics are available across the range, and ExpressTech confirms availability for your exact model before you book.
This is a current generation, so almost everything arriving here is accident damage rather than wear. The exact price is confirmed up front where the fault is clear, and walk-in screen and battery replacements are usually completed in about 60 minutes.
You can walk in Monday to Saturday at Dublin 2 without an appointment. If you are outside Dublin, Collection & Return runs Monday to Friday for €30 flat per shipment, round trip, tracked and insured, door to door. Both routes are the same repair, by the same technicians, at the same price.
ExpressTech has been trusted across Ireland since 2007 and holds 1,000+ Google reviews at 4.5 stars. Every repair is priced and confirmed with you before any work begins.
Which iPhone 16 do you have, and what it means for the repair
Telling the five models apart
This generation has five members, one more than usual, so it is worth two checks rather than one.
Count the rear cameras. One lens means the iPhone 16e. Two lenses, arranged vertically one above the other, means an iPhone 16 or 16 Plus. Three lenses in a square array means a 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max.
Look along the right edge below the power button. A second flush button there is Camera Control, and it appears on the 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. The 16e does not have it.
Size then separates each pair: 6.1 inches for the 16 and 16 Pro, 6.7 for the 16 Plus and 16 Pro Max. To confirm exactly, open Settings, then General, then About, and read Model Name. ExpressTech identifies the model on arrival at no cost.
The vertical camera change, and why it matters if yours is damaged
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus moved their two rear cameras into a vertical arrangement, where the 15 had them set diagonally. It looks like styling and it is not: the vertical alignment is what lets those models record spatial video.
The repair consequence is worth knowing. Because the two cameras work as a pair for that feature, damage to one lens can affect more than the obvious photo quality. If your 16 takes acceptable ordinary photos but something has gone wrong with depth or spatial capture, mention it when you book. It changes what gets tested and it can change which module is quoted.
Camera Control, and what happens to it during a repair
Camera Control is a pressure and touch sensitive control set into the frame, not a simple button. It sits on the side rail rather than in the display, so a screen replacement does not disturb it, and it is tested before your phone goes back to you.
Where it does become relevant is impact damage. A hard drop onto the right edge can affect Camera Control and the display in the same event. If the control has stopped responding since a drop, say so when you book rather than only mentioning the screen, because it is a separate check and a separate part.
The iPhone 16e, briefly
The 16e is the most affordable model in the line and carries a single rear camera. That single camera is the fastest way to identify it, and it also means camera repairs on a 16e are a different job from the multi-module work the rest of the generation needs.
It is a newer arrival than the rest of the generation, so parts availability is still maturing. ExpressTech confirms what is available for a 16e when you enquire rather than assuming it matches the 16.
What this generation is coming in for now
Screens, overwhelmingly, and it is accident damage. A phone this recent has not had time to wear anything out.
Charging ports are a distant second. This generation uses USB-C, so the same guidance applies as on the iPhone 15: check the port with a torch for compacted lint before assuming it has failed, and never probe it with anything metal.
Batteries barely feature yet and should not for a while. If an iPhone 16 is losing charge unusually fast, restart it fully and check Settings, Battery for a single app dominating usage before assuming the cell is at fault. On a phone this age, software is the more likely explanation.
Is an iPhone 16 worth repairing?
Yes, straightforwardly. These phones have their full software life ahead of them and hold high resale value, so repairing beats replacing by a wide margin on any single fault.
The only case that warrants a real conversation is significant liquid damage, where no outcome can be guaranteed on any phone at any age. The diagnostic exists to give you the honest position before you commit.
Parts and quality
ExpressTech uses the right quality part for the device and repair: Soft OLED screens — the iPhone screen standard — with one clear price per model, and a choice of two battery qualities with Genuine Apple available where supply allows. On a generation this recent, battery-quality availability varies by model, and you are told which applies to your phone before any work begins.
Fitting a non-Genuine battery removes the Battery Health percentage from Settings, and iOS may show a parts notice after a non-Genuine replacement. Neither affects how the repair performs. ExpressTech is an independent repair specialist by choice and does not claim any manufacturer authorisation.
Warranty
Every completed repair at ExpressTech is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair.
Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid damage work is approved.
Common questions about iPhone 16 repairs
Will Camera Control still work after a screen replacement? Yes. It is part of the side frame rather than the display, and it is tested before the phone is handed back.
My iPhone 16 is still under Apple's warranty. Should I come to you? If the fault is a manufacturing defect rather than accidental damage, Apple's warranty may cover it at no cost, and ExpressTech will tell you so. Accidental damage is not covered by that warranty, which is where an independent repair usually makes sense.
Do you repair the iPhone 16e? Yes. Parts availability for it is still maturing, so ExpressTech confirms what can be done for a 16e when you enquire rather than quoting from the rest of the range.
Will my iPhone 16 still be water resistant afterwards? No. A phone this new still has its seals in perfect condition, and that is exactly what is lost the moment it is opened, at any repair centre. ExpressTech reseals, returning splash resistance. See the iPhone repair page.
Will I lose my data? No. The phone is not wiped in order to repair it, and a passcode is not required for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution.
The questions people actually ask.
How long does an iPhone 16 repair take?
Most iPhone 16 screen and battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes. We'll always confirm the expected turnaround before any work begins. Visit our store any time during opening hours, no appointment needed. For Local Collection & Return customers, allow 3 to 4 working days.
Is my data safe during the repair?
Yes. We do not access your data during standard hardware repairs, and it is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution.
What warranty do you provide on iPhone 16 repairs?
Every iPhone 16 repair comes with a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. If a fault related to the repair appears within that period, we fix it at no charge.
Do you offer iPhone 16 repairs nationwide?
Yes. Walk in to our Dublin 2 workshop, post your device to us from anywhere in Ireland, or book Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas (€30 flat per shipment, round trip). Every repair is done at our Dublin 2 workshop. VAT invoices available for all business and school repairs. Trusted since 2007 with over 1,000 Google reviews.
