Confirming you have this exact model
The iPhone 16 is the 6.1-inch model with two rear cameras arranged vertically, one directly above the other, and a Camera Control button on the right edge below the power button.
Three cameras in a square means a 16 Pro. A single camera and no Camera Control means the 16e. The 16 Plus is this same phone in a 6.7-inch body. Confirm in Settings, then General, then About.
What this model comes in for
Screens, almost exclusively, and it is accident damage. A phone this recent has not had time to wear anything out.
Charging ports are a distant second. Batteries barely feature and should not for a while.
The vertical cameras, and why it matters if one is damaged
The two rear cameras on this model sit vertically rather than diagonally, and that alignment is what lets it record spatial video. The cameras work as a pair for that feature.
So damage to one lens can affect more than obvious photo quality. If ordinary photos look acceptable but depth or spatial capture has gone wrong, say so when you book. It changes what gets tested and which module is quoted.
Check Apple's warranty before you pay anyone
A phone at this age almost certainly still has Apple's warranty behind it. Where a part has failed on its own, without impact or liquid, that is Apple's to resolve at no cost and ExpressTech will tell you so.
Where the phone was dropped, the warranty does not apply, and an independent repair is normally quicker and less expensive.
Is it worth repairing?
Yes, straightforwardly. This phone has its full software life ahead of it and holds high resale value, so repairing beats replacing by a wide margin on any single fault.
If the phone is losing charge unusually fast, restart it fully and check Settings, Battery for one app dominating usage before booking anything. On a phone this age software is the likelier explanation, and ExpressTech would rather you spent nothing.
Your data, and your warranty
Your data is not accessed, transferred or erased during a standard hardware repair, and the phone is not wiped in order to repair it. A passcode is not needed for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution, because hardware that is already failing can fail further during any repair.
Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair. Liquid damage repairs are excluded from that warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid work is approved.
Water resistance does not survive the phone being opened, at any repair centre. ExpressTech reseals during reassembly, which returns splash resistance, but a repaired iPhone should be treated as no longer water resistant.
Common questions about iPhone 16 repairs
Will Camera Control still work after a screen replacement? Yes. It is part of the side frame rather than the display, and it is tested before your phone comes back.
How do I tell a 16 from a 16 Pro? Two vertical cameras is the 16; three in a square is the Pro.
My phone is still under Apple's warranty. Should I come to you? For accidental damage, usually yes. For a component that failed on its own, check with Apple first.

The questions people actually ask.
How long does an iPhone 16 repair take?
Most iPhone 16 screen, battery and charging port repairs are completed in around 60 minutes. We'll always confirm the expected turnaround before any work begins.
Is my iPhone 16 repair covered by a warranty?
Every completed repair includes a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. The warranty does not cover accidental damage after repair, liquid damage after repair or unrelated faults. Full warranty terms are available before your repair begins.
Can I walk in with my iPhone 16 without booking?
Yes. No booking is needed for most repairs at our Dublin 2 store on Baggot Street Lower. Walk in any time during opening hours and most standard repairs are completed while you wait.
Will my data be affected during an iPhone 16 repair?
No. We do not access your personal data during standard hardware repairs. Your data is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution before any repair.
