The 14 and 14 Plus kept the previous design and gained a genuinely better-built chassis; the 14 Pro and Pro Max introduced the Dynamic Island. That split runs through everything on this page, including what repairs cost. The exact price is confirmed up front where the fault is clear, and walk-in screen and battery replacements are usually completed in about 60 minutes.
You can walk in Monday to Saturday at Dublin 2 without an appointment. If you are outside Dublin, Collection & Return runs Monday to Friday for €30 flat per shipment, round trip, tracked and insured, door to door. Both routes are the same repair, by the same technicians, at the same price.

Which iPhone 14 do you have, and what it means for the repair
Telling the four models apart
Look at the top of the screen first. A notch means an iPhone 14 or 14 Plus. A pill-shaped cutout, the Dynamic Island, means a 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. That one glance separates the generation into its two halves.
Then size. Within the notch pair, the 14 is 6.1 inches and the 14 Plus is 6.7. Within the Pro pair, the 14 Pro is 6.1 and the 14 Pro Max is 6.7. The Pro models also carry three rear cameras against two on the standard models.
To confirm exactly, open Settings, then General, then About, and read Model Name. ExpressTech identifies the model on arrival at no cost.
The best thing about owning an iPhone 14 or 14 Plus
This is the most genuinely useful thing on this page, and most owners have never been told it.
With the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, Apple rebuilt the internal structure so the phone opens from the back rather than only from the front. Since the iPhone 8, replacing rear glass had meant laser-separating glass bonded to the frame, which is slow, skilled work and priced accordingly. On the 14 and 14 Plus the rear panel is designed to come off.
What that means for you is simple: back glass replacement on an iPhone 14 or 14 Plus is dramatically cheaper than on the generation either side of it. If you have been putting up with a cracked back because you assumed it would be expensive, get it quoted. It very likely is not.
The catch, and it is an important one: this does not apply to the 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. Those keep the older bonded construction, so their rear glass is priced like an iPhone 13's. Check which half of the generation you are in before assuming.
What this generation is coming in for now
Screens lead, as they do across every recent generation, and it is accident damage rather than failure.
Batteries are climbing steadily. The 14 Plus in particular has a reputation for excellent battery life from new, which means owners notice the decline sharply when it comes, because they are comparing against a very high starting point. That is wear, not a defect.
Back glass sits third overall, but the split above changes the conversation entirely depending on which model you have.
Charging ports are fourth. This generation still uses Lightning, so before booking, look into the port with a torch. Compacted pocket lint imitates a failed port almost exactly and clears with a wooden toothpick.
Dynamic Island and screen replacement on the Pro models
The Dynamic Island is a software feature drawn around the sensor cutout, not a separate component. It does not add a failure point and it does not complicate a screen replacement.
What sits behind it is the Face ID hardware, and the position there is the same as every other recent iPhone. ExpressTech transfers your original Face ID components to the new display as standard, so Face ID works after a screen replacement. If the Face ID hardware itself is damaged, it is paired to the phone at the factory and no repairer can replace it, Apple included. You are told that before the repair.
Is an iPhone 14 still worth repairing?
Yes, without hesitation for a single repair. This generation has years of software support ahead of it, and the standard models in particular are cheap to put right thanks to the chassis change.
The honest edge case is a 14 Pro Max needing both a screen and rear glass, where two expensive assemblies stack up quickly. ExpressTech will quote both and tell you plainly how that compares to a good replacement handset, rather than taking the work by default.
Parts and quality

Fitting a non-Genuine battery removes the Battery Health percentage from Settings, and iOS may show a parts notice after a non-Genuine replacement. Neither affects how the repair performs. ExpressTech is an independent repair specialist by choice and does not claim any manufacturer authorisation.
Warranty
Every completed repair at ExpressTech is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair.
Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid damage work is approved.
Common questions about iPhone 14 repairs
Why is back glass so much cheaper on my iPhone 14 than my friend's iPhone 14 Pro? Because they are built differently. The 14 and 14 Plus open from the back by design; the Pro models keep the older bonded rear glass that has to be laser separated. Same generation, two different repairs.
Does the Dynamic Island still work after a screen replacement? Yes. It is drawn in software around the sensor cutout, so a correctly fitted display shows it exactly as before.
My 14 Plus battery has got much worse this year. Is something wrong? Probably not. The 14 Plus starts from unusually good battery life, so ordinary wear is more noticeable than it would be on another model. A replacement restores it.
Will my iPhone 14 still be water resistant afterwards? No. This applies whether the phone is opened from the front or, on the 14 and 14 Plus, from the back: either route ends the factory rating. ExpressTech reseals, which returns splash resistance. See the iPhone repair page.
Will I lose my data? No. The phone is not wiped in order to repair it, and a passcode is not required for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution.
