You get the price before any work begins. If we find something else, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill.
The exact price is confirmed before any work begins. Complex faults, including liquid damage, no-power, intermittent faults and logic board issues, carry a €30 diagnostic fee. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

Know before you book
Can I keep using it? Yes — a camera fault is inconvenient rather than dangerous, and using the device does not make it worse. Repair when it suits you.
What a successful repair restores A successful camera repair restores the repaired camera; focus and the surrounding functions affected by the repair are tested before return.
Why does this happen? Often an impact near the lens — the camera module and its glass sit right where corner drops land.Sometimes it’s software, not hardware — especially if the fault appeared right after an update.
Could a cheaper fix be enough? If the camera failed suddenly with no drop or knock, restart the device and check for software updates before booking — a software glitch can look exactly like a hardware fault, and that check costs nothing.

ExpressTech repairs and replaces iPhone cameras for customers throughout Ireland, in person at the Dublin 2 workshop or by nationwide Collection & Return without leaving home. That covers the rear camera system, the front camera used for selfies and FaceTime, and the complete camera module on newer models. Which camera has actually failed is not always obvious from the symptom, so we check before quoting where it is unclear. Cracked camera lens glass over an otherwise working camera is a different, cheaper repair and has its own page.
The questions people actually ask.
My photos went blurry after a drop. Can that be fixed?
Yes, and it is one of the most common camera faults we see. Modern iPhone cameras float on a tiny stabilisation mechanism, and a hard knock can jar it out of alignment even when the glass looks perfect. The result is photos that never quite focus, or focus that hunts back and forth. Replacing the camera module resolves it, and we test focus across every lens before handing the phone back.
The camera shakes, buzzes or vibrates when I open the app. What is that?
That trembling image, often with a faint buzzing sound, is the optical image stabilisation system failing. It is a mechanical fault inside the module, so no software update or restart will settle it. A module replacement puts a working stabiliser back in, and video and low-light shots return to normal.
The camera app opens to a black screen. Is the camera dead?
Not necessarily. A black preview can be a software hiccup, so restart the phone first. If the black screen persists, or the camera app freezes whenever you switch lenses, the module or its connection has failed. We confirm which it is during assessment and explain what we find before any work begins.
Is this the repair I need, or the camera lens glass repair?
It depends on what is damaged. If only the outer lens glass is cracked and photos still look mostly fine, the cheaper and faster rear camera lens glass repair is usually enough. If photos are blurry or spotted, the focus will not settle, or a lens will not switch, the camera module behind the glass has been affected and this is the right repair. If you are not sure, we will tell you honestly which one your iPhone needs.
How much does an iPhone camera repair cost?
Pricing depends on your iPhone model, because different generations use very different camera systems. Each model has a clear price shown on its product page, and the final price is always confirmed before any work begins. Walk-in and prepay online prices are the same. Collection and return adds a flat €30 nationwide courier fee.
How long does the repair take?
Most camera repairs are completed the same day at our Dublin 2 store, and timing is always confirmed before any work begins. If a part is not in stock, common parts can usually be sourced within 24 hours. Nationwide collection and return typically takes 3 to 4 working days door to door.
Will the replacement camera take photos as good as the original?
The module is selected for fit and image quality for your exact model, and we test it properly before return: photo and video on each lens, focus, zoom, flash and stabilisation. If anything falls short in testing, it does not leave our workshop. Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship.
Will my photos and data be affected?
No. We do not access your personal data during standard hardware repairs. Your data is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. Your photo library stays exactly as you left it. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution before any repair.
