Which iPhone 17 is it?

Pick your exact model and you’ll see its repairs — with the exact price before anything begins.

Introduced from 2025 — the generation with the ultra-thin, single-lens iPhone Air. The Pros carry the full-width camera plateau; the 17 and 17e complete the range.

Why ExpressTech

The price is agreed first

You get the price before any work begins. If we find something else, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill.

What it costs to find out

The exact price is confirmed before any work begins. Complex faults, including liquid damage, no-power, intermittent faults and logic board issues, carry a €30 diagnostic fee. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

ExpressTech repairs the iPhone 17 line at its Dublin 2 workshop and by nationwide Collection & Return across Ireland: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e. Screen replacement is the repair most requested on this generation and is available across most of the range.

This is the newest iPhone generation, so parts supply is still building out. Battery, camera, back glass and liquid damage work is confirmed model by model rather than quoted from a list, and ExpressTech tells you what can be done for your exact phone when you enquire. The exact price is confirmed up front where the fault is clear, and walk-in screen replacements are usually completed in about 60 minutes.

You can walk in Monday to Saturday at Dublin 2 without an appointment. If you are outside Dublin, Collection & Return runs Monday to Friday for €30 flat per shipment, round trip, tracked and insured, door to door. Both routes are the same repair, by the same technicians, at the same price.

ExpressTech has been trusted across Ireland since 2007 and holds 1,000+ Google reviews at 4.5 stars. Every repair is priced and confirmed with you before any work begins.

Which iPhone 17 do you have, and what it means for the repair

Telling the five models apart

This generation includes the iPhone Air, which is unlike anything else in the line, so start there.

iPhone Air is immediately obvious in the hand. It is dramatically thinner than every other model, and once you have held one next to a 17 there is no confusing them.

Count the rear cameras for the rest. A single lens is the iPhone 17e. Two is the iPhone 17. Three in a square array means a 17 Pro or 17 Pro Max, and those two separate on size, with the Pro Max noticeably the larger.

To confirm exactly, open Settings, then General, then About, and read Model Name. ExpressTech identifies the model on arrival at no cost, and on a generation this new that check is worth doing rather than guessing.

Why parts availability matters more on a new generation

This is the honest part, and it is the reason this page reads differently from the pages for older generations.

When a new iPhone launches, replacement parts reach independent repair channels gradually rather than all at once. Screens come first, because they are what break first and what people need most. Batteries, cameras and rear glass follow as supply matures, usually over the following months.

What that means for you: ExpressTech will tell you what is genuinely available for your exact iPhone 17 model today, rather than taking a booking and discovering the part does not exist. If a repair cannot be done yet, you are told that up front, along with what the alternatives are. Being told no quickly is more useful than being told yes slowly.

The iPhone Air in particular is the newest construction in the range, and its parts position differs from the rest of the generation. Ask, and you will be given the current position rather than an assumption.

The iPhone Air, and what its design means for repairs

The Air trades internal volume for thinness, and that has real repair consequences worth understanding before anything goes wrong.

Everything inside is packed more tightly, and there is less structural depth behind the display than in a conventional phone. In practice that means a drop transfers more force to the components underneath, and it means repairs demand more care and more time on the bench.

The sensible advice for an Air owner is preventative rather than commercial: a case with a raised lip around the screen makes a genuine difference to how the phone lands, and it costs a fraction of any repair.

What this generation is coming in for now

Screens, almost exclusively, and it is accident damage in every case. These phones have not been in circulation long enough for anything to wear out.

If an iPhone 17 is behaving oddly, the first thing worth doing is a full restart, then a check of Settings, Battery for a single app dominating usage. New phones running new software throw up software behaviour that looks like hardware failure and is not, and ExpressTech would rather you spent nothing than paid to have that confirmed.

Under warranty, and when to come to us instead

An iPhone 17 is new enough that Apple's own warranty is likely still running, and it is worth being straightforward about what that covers.

A manufacturing defect, a component that fails without being dropped or wet, is normally Apple's to fix at no cost. If that is what you describe, ExpressTech will tell you to go to Apple first. There is nothing to gain from charging you for something covered elsewhere.

Accidental damage is the other case. A cracked screen is not a warranty matter, and that is where an independent repair usually makes sense on cost and on turnaround.

Parts and quality

ExpressTech uses the right quality part for the device and repair: Soft OLED screens — the iPhone screen standard — with one clear price per model, and a choice of two battery qualities with Genuine Apple available where supply allows. On the newest generation supply is younger, so you are told which battery options genuinely exist for your model before any work begins.

Fitting a non-Genuine battery removes the Battery Health percentage from Settings, and iOS may show a parts notice after a non-Genuine replacement. Neither affects how the repair performs. ExpressTech is an independent repair specialist by choice and does not claim any manufacturer authorisation.

Warranty

Every completed repair at ExpressTech is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair.

Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid damage work is approved.

Common questions about iPhone 17 repairs

Can you repair my iPhone 17 already? Screen replacement is available across most of the range now. For anything else, ask and you will be told the genuine current position for your exact model rather than a maybe.

Do you repair the iPhone Air? Its parts position differs from the rest of the generation because it is the newest construction in the line. Contact ExpressTech with your exact model and you will be told what can be done today.

Will an independent repair void my Apple warranty? A repair does not void the whole warranty, but Apple will not cover a part that a third party has replaced. If your fault looks like a manufacturing defect rather than damage, ExpressTech will say so and point you to Apple first.

Will my iPhone 17 still be water resistant afterwards? No, and it is worth knowing before you choose where to go, because it is true of Apple as well. Any repair that opens the phone ends the factory rating. ExpressTech reseals, returning splash resistance. See the iPhone repair page.

Will I lose my data? No. The phone is not wiped in order to repair it, and a passcode is not required for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution.

The questions people actually ask.

How long does an iPhone 17 repair take?

Most iPhone 17 screen and battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes. We'll always confirm the expected turnaround before any work begins. Visit our store any time during opening hours, no appointment needed. For Local Collection & Return customers, allow 3 to 4 working days.

Is my data safe during the repair?

Yes. We do not access your data during standard hardware repairs, and it is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution.

What warranty do you provide on iPhone 17 repairs?

Every iPhone 17 repair comes with a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. If a fault related to the repair appears within that period, we fix it at no charge.

Do you offer iPhone 17 repairs nationwide?

Yes. Walk in to our Dublin 2 workshop, post your device to us from anywhere in Ireland, or book Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas (€30 flat per shipment, round trip). Every repair is done at our Dublin 2 workshop. VAT invoices available for all business and school repairs. Trusted since 2007 with over 1,000 Google reviews.

A human answers during opening hours — and if a repair isn’t worth doing, we’ll say so before you spend anything.
