If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the largest phone of its generation, with three rear cameras in a square array. If your three-camera phone feels compact, it is the 17 Pro.

Check Apple's warranty before you pay anyone
On a handset this new, Apple's warranty is very likely still running. If nothing was dropped and nothing got wet, the fault may well be Apple's to fix for nothing, and ExpressTech will say so rather than take your money.
Drops and spills are a different matter and fall outside that cover, which is where coming here makes sense.
Is it worth repairing?
Yes for a screen, without hesitation. This is the most valuable phone in the estate, with its entire software life ahead of it, and a screen repair is a small fraction of replacing it.
Because it is the largest display of its generation it is also the most expensive screen ExpressTech fits. That is a genuine parts cost rather than a premium, and the price is confirmed with you before any work begins.
Your data, and your warranty
Your data is not accessed, transferred or erased during a standard hardware repair, and the phone is not wiped in order to repair it. A passcode is not needed for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution, because hardware that is already failing can fail further during any repair.
Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair. Liquid damage repairs are excluded from that warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid work is approved.
Water resistance does not survive the phone being opened, at any repair centre. ExpressTech reseals during reassembly, which returns splash resistance, but a repaired iPhone should be treated as no longer water resistant.
