If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

Check Apple's warranty before you pay anyone
A phone at this age almost certainly still has Apple's warranty behind it. Where a part has failed on its own, without impact or liquid, that is Apple's to resolve at no cost and ExpressTech will tell you so.
Where the phone was dropped, the warranty does not apply, and an independent repair is normally quicker and less expensive.
Is it worth repairing?
Yes, clearly. This is the newest generation, with its entire software life ahead of it and the highest resale value in the estate. A screen repair is a small fraction of replacing the handset.
If the phone is behaving oddly rather than physically damaged, restart it fully and check Settings, Battery for one app dominating usage first. New phones on new software throw up behaviour that looks like a hardware fault and is not.
Your data, and your warranty
Your data is not accessed, transferred or erased during a standard hardware repair, and the phone is not wiped in order to repair it. A passcode is not needed for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution, because hardware that is already failing can fail further during any repair.
Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair. Liquid damage repairs are excluded from that warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid work is approved.
Water resistance does not survive the phone being opened, at any repair centre. ExpressTech reseals during reassembly, which returns splash resistance, but a repaired iPhone should be treated as no longer water resistant.

Will an independent repair void my Apple warranty? Not the whole warranty, but Apple will not cover a part a third party replaced. If your fault looks like a manufacturing defect, go to Apple first.
