The iPhone 12 Pro is the 6.1-inch model with three rear cameras and a polished stainless steel band around the edge. The standard iPhone 12 is exactly the same size, so the camera count and the finish are the checks that matter.

What this model comes in for
Screens lead, with the corner-impact pattern that runs through this whole generation. Batteries follow, and rear glass is third.
Camera faults appear more often on the Pro than on the standard 12 for the simple reason that there are three modules to fail rather than two, and they are independent of one another.
Three cameras means three separate repairs
If your photos have gone wrong, test each zoom level before you come in. Switch between 0.5x, 1x and 2x and note which are affected.
The ultra-wide can fail while the main camera stays perfect, and knowing which module is out often makes the repair cheaper than assuming the whole array needs replacing. It is thirty seconds of testing that can change the quote.
Is it worth repairing?
Yes for a single repair. The 12 Pro remains a capable phone with a good camera system and software support ahead of it.
The stainless steel band and the three-camera array both make this a more expensive phone to repair than the standard 12, so a Pro needing several things at once reaches the replacement threshold sooner. You will be told where you stand before committing.
Your data, and your warranty
Your data is not accessed, transferred or erased during a standard hardware repair, and the phone is not wiped in order to repair it. A passcode is not needed for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution, because hardware that is already failing can fail further during any repair.
Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair. Liquid damage repairs are excluded from that warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid work is approved.
Water resistance does not survive the phone being opened, at any repair centre. ExpressTech reseals during reassembly, which returns splash resistance, but a repaired iPhone should be treated as no longer water resistant.

How do I tell a 12 Pro from a 12? Three rear cameras and a shiny metal band means the Pro. Two cameras and a matte band means the standard 12.
Only my ultra-wide camera is broken. Do I need the whole array replaced? No. The modules are independent, and only the failed one is replaced.
Will MagSafe still work after a repair that opens the back? Yes, and it is tested before your phone is returned.
