Battery replacement on the iPhone 12 series, in detail
The mini feels it first, and there is a reason
Across the iPhone 12 generation, the 12 mini reaches the point of obvious battery wear before the others, and it is not because the cell is worse.
A smaller phone carries a physically smaller battery. When any lithium cell loses the same percentage of its capacity, the smaller one loses more of your actual working day. A 12 mini that no longer reaches the evening is showing ordinary ageing, not a defect, and a replacement genuinely restores it.
Across the rest of the generation the signs are the familiar ones: shutdowns while showing charge remaining, a sharp drop when the camera opens, and poor behaviour in the cold.
Picking the right card
Two rear lenses is the iPhone 12, three is the 12 Pro, and those two are the same size so the lens count is the check that matters. The mini and the Pro Max identify themselves by size.
What to expect afterwards
Charge and use the phone normally; there is no settling-in period. Fitting a non-Genuine battery removes the Battery Health percentage from Settings and iOS may show a parts notice. Neither affects the repair, and both are explained before any work begins.

Do you repair older iPhones and iPhone SE models?
Yes. We repair every iPhone from the iPhone X series (X, XS, XR) through the three generations of iPhone SE up to the latest iPhone 17 lineup. Parts availability varies by model. For very old models we confirm parts availability before starting work.
How long do iPhone repairs usually take?
Most iPhone screen and battery repairs are completed in 60 minutes at our Dublin 2 store. A straightforward charging port clean is done while you wait; rear camera and back glass repairs usually take longer and are most often completed the same day. Visit our store during opening hours, no appointment needed. For Local Collection & Return customers, allow 3 to 4 working days from collection to return.
Can I visit without an appointment?
Yes. Walk in to 110 Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2 any time during opening hours. No booking required. Most common iPhone repairs are completed while you wait.
Do you offer nationwide iPhone repair by courier?
Yes. Walk in to our Dublin 2 workshop, post your iPhone to us from anywhere in Ireland, or book Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas (€30 flat per shipment, round trip). Every repair is done at our Dublin 2 workshop.
Will my iPhone data be safe during the repair?
Yes. We do not access your data, photos, contacts or messages during standard hardware repairs, and your data is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping an iCloud backup as a general precaution before any repair.
Do you provide VAT invoices for business or school customers?

What warranty comes with an iPhone repair?
Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair. Liquid damage repairs are excluded due to the risk of ongoing corrosion.
Can I choose the quality of the replacement part?
