You get the price before any work begins. If we find something else, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill.
The exact price is confirmed before any work begins. Complex faults, including liquid damage, no-power, intermittent faults and logic board issues, carry a €30 diagnostic fee. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost. If the device cannot be repaired, no repair charge applies beyond any agreed diagnostic or assessment fee.

All four iPhone 13 models are repaired at the ExpressTech workshop in Dublin 2, and by nationwide Collection & Return for customers anywhere in Ireland: the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The full repair range is available here: screen and battery replacement, charging port repair, back glass replacement, rear camera and camera lens work, and liquid damage diagnostics.
The iPhone 13 line arrived in 2021 with meaningfully larger batteries than the generation before it, which is why these phones are still holding up well and why most arrive here for accident damage rather than wear. The exact price is confirmed up front where the fault is clear, and walk-in screen and battery replacements are usually completed in about 60 minutes.
You can walk in Monday to Saturday at Dublin 2 without an appointment. If you are outside Dublin, Collection & Return runs Monday to Friday for €30 flat per shipment, round trip, tracked and insured, door to door. Both routes are the same repair, by the same technicians, at the same price.
ExpressTech has been trusted across Ireland since 2007 and holds 1,000+ Google reviews at 4.5 stars. Every repair is priced and confirmed with you before any work begins.
Which iPhone 13 do you have, and what it means for the repair
Telling the four models apart
The quickest check on this generation is the rear camera arrangement. The iPhone 13 and 13 mini carry two lenses set diagonally, which is the change from the vertically stacked pair on the iPhone 12. Three lenses in a square array means a Pro.
Size separates the rest. The 13 mini is 5.4 inches, the 13 and 13 Pro are both 6.1 inches, and the 13 Pro Max is 6.7 inches. The 13 and 13 Pro are the same size as each other, so fall back to the camera count: two lenses is the 13, three is the 13 Pro.
To confirm exactly, open Settings, then General, then About, and read Model Name. ExpressTech identifies the model on arrival at no cost.
Face ID after a screen replacement, and why you may have read otherwise
This generation carries a piece of history worth clearing up, because outdated advice about it is still circulating.
When the iPhone 13 launched, replacing the display outside Apple's own process disabled Face ID. It was a genuine restriction and it was widely reported at the time. Apple removed it in a software update shortly afterwards.
The current position is straightforward: ExpressTech transfers the original Face ID components to the new display as standard, and Face ID works normally after a screen replacement on an iPhone 13. If you have read that a third-party screen kills Face ID on this model, that advice is several years out of date.
The genuine limitation is unchanged and applies to every iPhone: if the Face ID hardware itself is damaged, usually by a hard impact or liquid, it is paired to the phone at the factory and no repairer can replace it, Apple included. ExpressTech tells you that before the repair rather than after.
What this generation is coming in for now
Screens lead, and it is accident damage rather than failure. The iPhone 13 kept the flat-sided design, so the corner-impact pattern continues: a drop onto a corner concentrates force on a small area of glass.
Batteries are second and rising. The iPhone 13 shipped with a larger cell than the 12, so these phones took longer to reach the point where wear is obvious, but they are reaching it now. The 13 mini gets there first, since a smaller phone carries a smaller battery and loses usable hours faster for the same percentage of wear.
Back glass is third, and it remains a laser-separation workshop repair rather than a panel swap on this generation.
The 13 mini, honestly
The 13 mini has a following, and people keep them longer than the numbers would suggest, so it is worth being direct about what that means.
Everything on it is more tightly packed, so repairs take slightly longer, and battery life is the first thing to feel its age. If you like the size, a battery replacement is the single best thing you can do for the phone, and it is a repair worth doing on a mini that would be marginal on a larger, more replaceable model.
Is an iPhone 13 still worth repairing?
Yes, comfortably, for a single repair. The iPhone 13 is still a capable phone with several years of software support ahead of it, and a screen or battery repair costs a small fraction of replacing it.
The point where ExpressTech would ask you to think again is a phone needing three things at once, or one with liquid damage and existing corrosion. In both cases you are told what the phone is worth repairing before you commit, not after the work is done.
Parts and quality
ExpressTech uses the right quality part for the device and repair: Soft OLED screens — the iPhone screen standard — with one clear price per model, and a choice of two battery qualities with Genuine Apple available where supply allows. What applies to your model is explained before any work begins.
Fitting a non-Genuine battery removes the Battery Health percentage from Settings, and iOS may show a parts notice after a non-Genuine replacement. Neither affects how the repair performs, and both are explained beforehand. ExpressTech is an independent repair specialist by choice and does not claim any manufacturer authorisation.
Warranty
Every completed repair at ExpressTech is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair.
Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion, and this is explained before any liquid damage work is approved.
Common questions about iPhone 13 repairs
Will Face ID stop working if you replace my screen? No. See the section above. The restriction that existed when the phone launched was removed by Apple in a software update, and ExpressTech transfers your original Face ID components as standard.
Will iOS tell me a non-Genuine part was fitted? It may show a parts notice in Settings. It is a message about part origin, not a warning about the repair, and it does not affect how the phone works.
My iPhone 13 battery health is 84%. Should I replace it? Judge it on behaviour rather than the number. A phone at 84% that comfortably lasts the day is fine. One that shuts down at 30%, or dies on a cold morning, is not, whatever the percentage says.
Will my iPhone 13 still be water resistant afterwards? No. The factory seal is a one-time bond and it does not survive being opened, here or anywhere. Resealing during reassembly returns splash resistance, and the iPhone repair page sets out the rest.
Will I lose my data? No. The phone is not wiped in order to repair it, and a passcode is not required for most repairs. Back up beforehand as a general precaution.
The questions people actually ask.
How long does an iPhone 13 repair take?
Most iPhone 13 screen and battery repairs are completed in around 60 minutes. We'll always confirm the expected turnaround before any work begins. Visit our store any time during opening hours, no appointment needed. For Local Collection & Return customers, allow 3 to 4 working days.
Is my data safe during the repair?
Yes. We do not access your data during standard hardware repairs, and it is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution.
What warranty do you provide on iPhone 13 repairs?
Every iPhone 13 repair comes with a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. If a fault related to the repair appears within that period, we fix it at no charge.
Do you offer iPhone 13 repairs nationwide?
Yes. Walk in to our Dublin 2 workshop, post your device to us from anywhere in Ireland, or book Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas (€30 flat per shipment, round trip). Every repair is done at our Dublin 2 workshop. VAT invoices available for all business and school repairs. Trusted since 2007 with over 1,000 Google reviews.
