Know before you book
Can I keep using it? Safe to keep using if it still charges normally. Do not charge it at all if liquid was involved.
What a successful repair restores A successful charging repair restores reliable charging; cable fit and charging response are tested before return.
Why does this happen? Often it isn’t broken at all — pocket lint and dust compact at the bottom of the port until the cable can’t seat properly.Often plain mechanical wear: thousands of insertions loosen the connector’s grip over a device’s life.Sometimes the device is fine and the cable or adapter is the culprit — always worth testing another set first.
What happens if you wait? A worn or debris-blocked port usually becomes less reliable with every connection — intermittent charging tends to become no charging. We inspect and clean first where appropriate, which often resolves it while the port is still serviceable.
Could a cheaper fix be enough? We inspect and clean the port first where appropriate, and only quote a replacement if cleaning doesn’t resolve it or the port is damaged — the cleaning cost is credited toward the replacement if one is then needed.
From our technicians A loose cable is not always a port fault — corrosion from a small liquid exposure months ago can look identical. Mention any liquid history when you book: it changes what we inspect first.

The questions people actually ask.
How do I know if the charging port is the problem?
A Samsung that will not charge is not always a broken charging port. Often it is the cable, the plug or debris in the port, and sometimes it is the battery or liquid inside. If it charges only when the cable is held at a certain angle, that usually points to a loose or worn port. If it shows the charging symbol but the percentage does not rise, that is more often the battery or a board-level fault. If the phone got wet, treat it as liquid damage and do not charge it.
Do you always replace the charging port?
No. We inspect and professionally clean the charging port first, because in many cases debris is the whole problem and a cleaning resolves it without replacing any part. If the port is physically damaged, or cleaning does not restore charging, we carry out a charging dock replacement and confirm the price with you before any work begins.
How much does Samsung charging port repair cost?
Pricing depends on your Galaxy model. Each model has a clear price shown on its own repair page, from the older Galaxy S and Note models up to the current S series and Galaxy A phones, and the final price is always confirmed before any work begins. Walk-in and prepay online prices are the same. Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas adds a flat €30 courier fee per shipment.
How long does the repair take?
Most Samsung charging port repairs and cleanings are completed the same day at our Dublin 2 store, and a straightforward clean is quicker than that. Timing is always confirmed when we take the phone in. For Local Collection & Return customers, allow 3 to 4 working days door to door.
Will my data be affected?
No. Charging port repair is a hardware-only repair. We do not access your data during standard hardware repairs, and it is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution before any repair.
What warranty applies?
Every completed charging port replacement is backed by a 12-month warranty on the part and the workmanship. It covers a fault with the fitted part or the work itself, not new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair.
What parts do you fit, and how is the repair tested?
Where a replacement is needed we fit high-quality replacement charging docks selected for your exact Galaxy model. Before the phone comes back to you we test charging, cable fit and the data connection, and carry out a full device test.
Can I walk in, or send the phone?
Both. Walk in to 110 Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2 during opening hours with no appointment needed, post it to us from anywhere in Ireland, or book Local Collection & Return in Dublin and local areas. Once your phone arrives, the port is inspected, cleaned or replaced, tested and returned.
What if the fault is not the charging port?
Sometimes a charging fault traces to the battery, to liquid inside the phone or to the logic board rather than the port. If we find that, we stop and explain it clearly, with a quote, before doing anything further. No additional paid work is carried out without your approval.
Still deciding?
A human answers during opening hours — and if a repair isn't worth doing, we'll say so before you spend anything.
