MacBook diagnostics — Dublin workshop, serving all of Ireland
MacBook Diagnostics
Assessment is free where the fault is clear: a cracked screen or a worn battery does not need an investigation. A MacBook that will not power on, boots then restarts, or shows several symptoms at once does, and that deeper look carries a diagnostic fee that is credited in full if you go ahead with the quoted repair.

The questions people actually ask.
What does the €30 diagnostic fee cover?
It covers the deeper diagnostic time that complex faults need, such as a MacBook that will not power on, an intermittent fault, liquid damage or a logic board issue. Assessment is free where the fault is clear, such as a cracked screen or a worn battery. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost.
Is the diagnostic fee charged if I proceed with the repair?
It is credited in full against your repair if you proceed, so it comes straight off the quoted price. It covers the diagnostic work itself only if you decide not to go ahead.
How long does diagnosis take?
Diagnostic time depends on the fault. A clear fault is quick to confirm, while a no-power or liquid-damage case takes as long as a careful diagnosis needs. We keep you updated throughout.
What happens after the fault is identified?
We confirm the correct repair path and give you an individual quote before any work begins. If the diagnostic finds more than expected, we contact you and wait for your approval; the final price is confirmed before any further work is carried out. Every completed repair carries a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship.
Can you diagnose a MacBook that will not power on?
Yes. A MacBook that will not turn on, that boots and then restarts, or that shows several symptoms at once is exactly what the diagnostic is for. We assess it first and tell you what we find before anything is quoted.
Will my data be affected?
Diagnosis is a careful, data-first process and does not access, transfer or erase your data. If a repair path later involves storage or board-level work, we tell you before anything begins. Keeping a backup is always a sensible precaution.
Do you guarantee the fault can be repaired?
No. We do not promise a fixed outcome before diagnosis, because board-level and no-power work depends on what the assessment finds. What we do promise is an honest assessment, an individual quote before any work, and no paid work without your approval.
Can I walk in, or send the MacBook?
Both. Walk in to our Dublin 2 repair centre during opening hours, or book collection and return from anywhere in Ireland. Choose your MacBook model above so the diagnostic is booked against the right machine; if you are not sure which model you have, click the Apple menu and About This Mac.
