Repair Times Explained: What to Expect and Why

· Written by ExpressTech

In short

Honest turnaround expectations for every device family — why iPhone screens take an hour, why Apple Watch timing is confirmed first, and what courier adds.

Turnaround claims are easy to inflate and hard to trust. ExpressTech's times follow one rule: every page states the exact turnaround for its repair, and no page may claim a time that isn't real. Here is the honest picture, family by family.

iPhone screens and batteries

Walk-in iPhone screen and battery repairs are usually completed in 60 minutes, with parts usually kept in stock. These are the repairs we do most, on the bench most equipped for them.

Most other phone repairs

Most common phone repairs — Samsung, Google Pixel, OnePlus and other Android devices — are completed the same day.

MacBook and laptop repairs

Typical turnaround: same day for most models, subject to part availability. We confirm timing with you before any work begins.

Apple Watch repairs

Typical turnaround is confirmed before work begins. Watch cases must be carefully resealed to preserve water resistance, so timing genuinely depends on the model and repair — a fixed promise here would not be honest.

Complex faults and liquid damage

Diagnostic time depends on the fault. Liquid damage, no-power and logic board work are assessed first and quoted individually — we confirm timing before any work begins rather than guessing.

If a part needs ordering

Common parts are usually sourced within 24 hours. Where a part must be ordered, we tell you before you commit — never after.

Courier and postal repairs

Nationwide Collection & Return is typically 3 to 4 working days door to door — that includes transit both ways, not just bench time. Dublin courier customers booking before 11am may receive same-day priority where eligible.

Frequently asked questions

Why do some repairs have exact times and others don't?

Because honesty beats optimism. Where the bench reality is predictable — iPhone screens and batteries — we say 60 minutes. Where it genuinely varies, we confirm timing with you before work begins instead of inventing a number.

Is walk-in faster than courier?

The bench time is the same; courier simply adds transit. Walk in if you're near Dublin 2 and want it back the same visit.
