iPhone Screen Quality Explained
In short
OLED and LCD, what ExpressTech fits as standard, when Genuine options are available, and exactly what we test before your iPhone leaves the bench.
Replacing an iPhone screen is the most common repair in Ireland — and screen quality is where good and bad repairs diverge most visibly. This is how ExpressTech approaches it.
OLED and LCD, briefly
Modern iPhones use OLED displays: each pixel produces its own light, giving deep blacks, strong contrast and accurate colour. Some low-cost repairs substitute LCD panels into OLED devices — thicker, dimmer and visibly different. ExpressTech does not fit cheap LCD alternatives on OLED devices unless a customer has explicitly asked for that option and it has been explained and approved first. Our standard for OLED iPhones is a quality OLED panel.
Your quality choices
Where available, we offer Genuine Manufacturer repair options — an original display like the one your iPhone shipped with. Our ExpressTech Premium grade is a carefully selected OLED display chosen for colour, brightness, touch response and durability, professionally installed and fully tested. The repair page for your model shows the options that genuinely exist for it, and we'll clearly explain the available quality choices before work begins.
What we test before your iPhone leaves the bench
Before a device leaves the bench, ExpressTech tests the repaired function and the key surrounding functions affected by the repair. For a screen repair that includes the display itself, touch response, brightness, the camera and speaker areas, the proximity and Face ID area where relevant, buttons and basic behaviour.
Time and warranty
Walk-in iPhone screen repairs are usually completed in 60 minutes, with parts usually kept in stock. Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. Liquid damage repairs are excluded due to the risk of ongoing corrosion.
