Charging issues

Charging port: cleaning or replacement?

A phone that will not charge is often a port full of pocket lint, not a broken port. We inspect and clean first, and only quote a replacement if cleaning does not resolve it or the port is damaged.

We clean before we replace.

Replacing a charging port that only needed cleaning is the kind of repair we will not sell you. We inspect the port, clean it where that is likely to fix the fault, and test charging before going any further.

Cleaning, or a new port?

When cleaning fixes it

  • Lint or debris packed into the port
  • The cable will not seat or clicks loosely
  • Charging only works at certain angles
  • Charging stops and starts from a dirty connection

When a replacement is needed

  • Physical damage to the port, bent or broken pins
  • Liquid corrosion inside the connector
  • Charging is not restored after a proper clean

Cleaning is €30. iPhone charging port replacement is €95, and the €30 cleaning is credited toward it if a replacement is needed. The price is always confirmed before we proceed.

What we do

1. Inspect

We look into the port for debris, damage and corrosion before assuming anything.

2. Clean first

Where debris is the likely cause, we clean the port properly and test charging.

3. Test

We check cable fit, charging response and connection stability before calling it done.

4. Replace only if needed

If cleaning does not restore charging or the port is damaged, we quote a replacement and confirm the price first.

What it is backed by

Tested before return

We test cable fit and charging stability before the device goes back. What we test.

Questions about charging ports

Why has my phone stopped charging?

The most common cause is debris packed into the charging port, which stops the cable seating properly. A damaged or corroded port can also be the cause. We inspect first to tell the difference.

Do I need a new charging port, or just a clean?

Often just a clean. If the cable will not seat, charging is intermittent, or it only works at an angle, debris is the likely cause. A new port is needed when there is physical damage, corrosion, or when cleaning does not restore charging.

How much does a charging port repair cost?

Cleaning is €30. iPhone charging port replacement is €95. If cleaning does not resolve the fault and a replacement is needed, the €30 cleaning is credited toward the replacement. The price is always confirmed before any work begins.

How long does a charging port repair take?

Most charging repairs are completed the same day, and iPhone charging repairs are often completed in 60 minutes. A more involved replacement may take longer, and we will tell you when you book.
