Start with what you notice
- An overheating warning. Note the message and whether it appears soon after starting or after a longer gaming session.
- The console switches off. Tell us whether it loses power completely, what you were doing and whether it happens repeatedly.
- A fan that sounds different. Explain whether the noise is new, constant or accompanied by a warning or shutdown. Noise alone does not identify a failed part.
- No power, or no picture. Describe this separately. A power fault or blank screen does not establish that the console needs cooling work or HDMI port replacement.
Simple checks before you bring it in
PlayStation says a fan can temporarily become louder while cooling the console during some games. Keep the vents unobstructed, leave at least 10 cm of space around each side and avoid a cramped cabinet. Switch the console off properly and disconnect its power cable before cleaning the vents. Follow PlayStation's ventilation and cleaning guidance.
If the problem repeats, describe it to us before choosing a repair. You do not need to open the console to ask for help.
The repair and price are confirmed first
Our PS5 service menu lists cleaning and liquid-metal replacement alongside other repair options and their current prices. Cooling work is a specific service; it is not a promise that every shutdown has the same cause or repair cost.
The exact price is confirmed before any work begins. Complex faults, including liquid damage, no-power, intermittent faults and logic board issues, carry a €30 diagnostic fee. If you go ahead with the quoted repair, the €30 is credited in full toward the repair cost.
No additional paid work is carried out without customer approval. If we find another issue during repair, we explain it clearly and confirm the cost before proceeding. We also confirm the expected repair time after assessment; delivery time is separate.

Warranty and your data
Every completed repair is backed by a 12-month warranty on parts and workmanship. It covers faulty parts and workmanship, but does not cover new accidental damage, misuse or unrelated faults after the repair. Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty due to the risk of ongoing corrosion. Read the warranty.
We do not access your personal data during standard hardware repairs. Your data is never accessed, transferred or erased unless you explicitly ask us to carry out a data-related service. We recommend keeping a backup as a general precaution before any repair.
Questions about PS5 overheating
Will cleaning fix a PS5 that keeps switching off?
Cleaning can help when dust is affecting cooling. Repeated shutdowns can also need a different repair. We assess the cause before confirming the work and price.
Is a loud fan always a fault?
No. PlayStation explains that the fan can temporarily become louder during some games. Tell us if the noise comes with a temperature warning, repeated shutdowns or another change in how the console works.
Can I bring my PS5 in without knowing the model?
Yes. Bring the console to our Dublin 2 repair centre, or ask us for help identifying it before posting it. We confirm the exact model and appropriate service before repair.
Is liquid-metal replacement the same as liquid-damage repair?
No. Liquid-metal replacement is cooling-system work. A spill into the console is a separate fault, so tell us if that has happened. Liquid damage repairs are excluded from the 12-month warranty because corrosion can continue.
